Falling Petal Scarf
Handwoven in the studio, the Falling Petal Scarf is a bold colour statement for any outfit and the perfect match with the Falling Petal Dog Accessories.
The Falling Petal design and colourway were both inspired by the work of Scottish designer, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. His botanical watercolour studies, specifically those featuring pinks, purples and blues were my main sources of colour inspiration. The complex woven design takes elements from his early decorative floral motifs, with sharp, linear weave structures combining to create subtle petal curves repeating throughout the scarf.
Each Scarf has been handwoven on the loom in a short run and is a limited edition piece. They are the perfect heirloom piece, with craftsmanship and sustainability at the heart of each design.
British sourced cotton/merino wool blend yarn gives the Falling Petal Scarf a luxuriously silky soft feel with the added bonus of longlasting durability and lightweight warmth.
The distinctive Falling Petal pattern has been designed using traditional weaving techniques with a complex contemporary twist. This attention to detail and the craftsmanship of each piece sets the Falling Petal Collection apart and allows it to be instantly recognisable as an Arra Textiles design.
Each bespoke Falling Petal piece is handmade from start to finish, with the fabric woven over the course of three months in the studio. It has then been washed, finished by hand, pressed and labelled in the studio.
