Weaving School

1
Mindful Weaving Workshops
Join Lucy at her Maryfield Studio for a peaceful day of weaving inspired by the rich colours and soft light of autumn. Nestled among woodlands and fields, the Maryfield studio near Banchory offers a tranquil retreat from everyday busyness, surrounded by fields, trees, and open skies. This is a day to slow down, breathe deeply and enjoy the quiet rhythm of weaving in gentle company.

There’s no rush, no pressure, just the soothing repetition of the loom and the satisfaction of seeing your fabric grow, row by row. A chance to reconnect, not only with craft, but with your own pace.
2
Social Weaving Workshops
Join Lucy for a welcoming and sociable day of weaving at the idyllically rural Maryfield Studio, just outside Banchory. As the landscape shifts into autumn’s golden tones, the studio becomes a cosy retreat, the perfect place to slow down, enjoy creative company, and soak up the colours of the season.

Whether you’re weaving a cosy cowl scarf, a length of fabric to turn into something special or just want to have a go and see where the loom takes you, you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind textile and hopefully some new weaving friends too!

About
Arra Textiles | Lucy
With a studio by the River Dee in the North East of Scotland, my work is inspired by the dramatic landscapes and seascapes which surround me. The unique textiles I design and make are created by blending heritage craft techniques with contemporary design. Hand weaving with natural fibres on multi-shaft looms, rug tufting and natural dyeing are just a few of the techniques I use.
As I transition my practice towards a fully traceable and sustainable approach, I hope that my designs will connect you with this special place and tell you a story through pattern and colour.
