My studio is at Maryfield Farm near Banchory by the River Dee. More details on how to visit can be found on the 'Contact' page.
Commissioning an artwork can be the perfect option when you're looking for something that is a little more personal. I specialise in handwoven landscapes and seascapes which blend traditional tapestry techniques with contemporary patterning but I’m also open to projects which are a little more abstract. Designs will always have my distinctive style and colour sense but can be as subtle, bold, contemporary or traditional as needed!

I have a number of commissions lined up over the next year but please feel free to get in touch to discuss any options regarding your project or to be added to the waiting list.
Currently, I am not creating bespoke jacquard designs but have a range of finished pieces available in the online gallery.
The majority of designs (excluding artworks) can be washed on a wool setting at 30°C then dried flat before being pressed with a steam iron.
You may find with some of the cowl scarves and straight scarves that in the first month or two of use a thread or two will come loose at the edge. This is completely normal and expected. As the scarf is used, worn and washed, it will begin to come together and felt very slightly. I usually pull a few threads back from the edge of each scarf once they are finished but from time to time an extra couple will be needed. They can be carefully pulled back and snipped at the end.

Weaving is a time consuming and complex craft and as such can result in pieces which have a higher end price point. I want my work to be as accessible as I can make it and am delighted to be able to offer payment plans to spread out the cost for any piece over £150.
Once you have chosen a piece which you love, contact me with the following information or pop into the studio:
1. The name of the piece and colour-way if applicable (sometimes a screenshot can be helpful!)
2. The number of months you’d like to spread the cost out over (the minimum monthly payment is £100)
3. Your contact details
I’ll email a confirmation of the details to you then send an invoice for the first payment. As soon as the first invoice has been paid and the terms agreed to in writing a monthly invoice (payable within 7 days) will be sent until the full cost of the piece is paid. Once the cost has been paid in full (including any shipping costs) your piece will sent out, delivered to you or will be ready to be picked up from the studio.
If payments are stopped or cancelled before the piece has been paid in full for any reason, any payments already made will be non-refundable. You will be able to apply them to an alternative piece equal in value to the amount paid at that point. If you’d like anymore information or to discuss a payment plan contact me at lucy@arratextiles.co.uk or visit the studio.
Payment Plans are also available for any commissioned pieces and are interest free with no added surcharges to the cost of your chosen piece.
